Hi, I’m Amanda!
I’m your silly noise making, do anything to get your toddler to genuinely smile or laugh; drinks almost room temperature coffee (but really prefers iced); thriller book reading; and photographer who loves to capture all the moments, but specifically maternity, newborn, families, and even the dreaded professional headshots.
But really, I’m ultimately a mom of three who (painfully) knows how fleeting each moment is and am here to help your freeze some memories in time too.
For as long as I can remember, I've been taking photos. It was always such fun to pick up my developed film and see what pictures I had taken! I may have even followed my friends around with a video camera in high school (those videos are scary and funny to watch now!). In college, I had a site of my pictures entitled "Amanda with a Camera” and could rarely be found without my digital camera strapped around my wrist.
I first got serious about photography when my oldest son was born and I was anxious to capture every moment in the best quality possible! My husband gifted me my first DSLR shorty after his birth in 2016 and with the help of some photography classes, I realized I could do more than just capture my own family.
I’ve now been officially AKP since 2019. I’m located in Elmhurst, but I travel to the city and surrounding suburbs for all my clients!
I'm a middle school teacher/wedding planner turned stay-at-home Mom. My current season of parenting includes lots of soccer and baseball fields with a side of legos and of course, trucks. I’m lucky that my boys truly love our family time of simple game or movie nights, but we all cherish our week together in Michigan every summer the most.
If I'm not doing #momlife with my three boys, I'm trying to fit in dates with my husband, family dance parties, or wine nights with my best gals. I enjoy cooking, but hate meal planning and really love a night out for sushi. I have a recent addiction to bread making and feel quite accomplished when a loaf comes out perfectly. My guilty pleasure is Bravo reality tv and I love watching new movies if we ever actually pick one! And if you ever catch me in front of a live band, I apologize now for my excitement and killer moves.
There are few things I enjoy more than looking back at old photos and remembering the story that they tell. Now as a parent, those stories are more important to me than ever and I can't wait to capture yours!
